When Polaroids Attack
Monday, 10 January 2011 | 5:04 pm

My parents bought the jersey for me on Saturday. I can't believe this is actually mine. I really think I should have taken size S, though, but it's cool. Size M is just comfortable. Ma & Dad:
شكرا
Muchas gracias!

So I may have gotten a little carried away while I was transforming the above digital image into a polaroid. I was listening to Lucenzo at the time and I was seeing Portugal in my head, the apartment buildings with its bright colours and small black-iron-wrought-fenced balconies with cute windows. So I went to Flickr and remembered those times I was looking at Puerto Rico snapshots and I was like, This is why I want to see the world.

Simple as that.

Somewhere in Puerto Rico. I like the colour on both buildings.

...and, duh, Cuba. What I like about Cuba is the fact that they have these old cars. There are few modern cars there due to the embargo against Cuba.

Portugal. I especially like the red-rimmed windows. I applied a lighting effect on the glass pane with Gimp, so it looks like the sun is reflecting off of it and blinds you instead. Or maybe not. I want to photograph buildings like this someday.
