This Is Football
Monday 31 January 2011 | 5:12 pm

Okay.

This is me being unreasonable: Is this because I watched Athletic Bilbao's match and celebrated their 0 − 2 victory, so you, The Powers That Be, had to give defeat to my team? Or is it because I watched only the first half of the match?

This is me being rational: Shit like this happens, and THAT IS OKAY because there will be some wins and losses. That's how it is. Cris' quality of play seems a bit off to me lately. I AM BOTHERED. Very bothered. Also, he looks agitated for the past two matches. A relief: Karim is improving, I see.

A confession: I need to get started on my assignment with a heavy heart. I'll get over the loss in a couple of days' time.

You made me cry.

When Polaroids Attack
Monday 10 January 2011 | 5:04 pm

My parents bought the jersey for me on Saturday. I can't believe this is actually mine. I really think I should have taken size S, though, but it's cool. Size M is just comfortable. Ma & Dad:
شكرا
Muchas gracias!

So I may have gotten a little carried away while I was transforming the above digital image into a polaroid. I was listening to Lucenzo at the time and I was seeing Portugal in my head, the apartment buildings with its bright colours and small black-iron-wrought-fenced balconies with cute windows. So I went to Flickr and remembered those times I was looking at Puerto Rico snapshots and I was like, This is why I want to see the world.

Simple as that.

Somewhere in Puerto Rico. I like the colour on both buildings.

...and, duh, Cuba. What I like about Cuba is the fact that they have these old cars. There are few modern cars there due to the embargo against Cuba.

Portugal. I especially like the red-rimmed windows. I applied a lighting effect on the glass pane with Gimp, so it looks like the sun is reflecting off of it and blinds you instead. Or maybe not. I want to photograph buildings like this someday.

You Blind Or…?

The team came out onto the pitch, as promised, wearing the shirt with "Ánimo Pipa, recupérate pronto" on it. A really nice gesture, but—sigh. It sucks to have one player come back from injury just to see another one go. So yes, you get well soon.

The game was interestingly intense. It was 0 − 1, then 1 − 1, to which the visiting team responded by making it 1 − 2. Then it was until up to the extra time in the first half and, again, Ronaldo scored, making it 2 − 2. It made me go asdfghjkl; because, damn, the match was giving me heartaches. Second-half: Ronaldo made it 3. A hat-trick. Kaká—oh, Kaká—scored the fourth one. I got chills down my spine and my heart did this weird jump. His first goal since coming back last week. I cried a little. Bleuhr.

I think it would have been 4 − 3 at full time if Cazorla wasn't wrongly flagged for being offside when the ball went in. Poor decision.

In another league: Manchester United 1 - Liverpool 0. Not surprising because Hodgson just got sacked and Dalglish came in a day before the match. Be practical. How much could the man do in just one day? The team is pretty much in bad shape right now.

Addicted to Pola. Fuck Si!
Friday 7 January 2011 | 1:11 am

Yes, it's true: I'm addicted to Pola, which explains the picture below because I cannot resist the temptation not to turn this image into a polaroid and pretend—just pretend because this fantasy is much more entertaining than RL—that I was there and had this moment captured. Ahem. OK.

Cool story, bro.

Listening to Romance on Flamenco classical guitar while downloading custom content for TS3 with the rain raging outside the window.

I'm so content.

This Is Very Amusing

Look at the possibilities! But mine is just disturbing.

Tsk.

It's still funny, though.

Please Just Score
Sunday 2 January 2011 | 11:59 pm

The game is frustrating.

I'm gripping at my hair, drinking water like I'm the one running up and down the pitch, and bitchfacing in front of the TV and at the referee.

I MISS FOOTBALL
Saturday 1 January 2011 | 10:50 pm

I'm so ready for Athletic Bilbao tomorrow. I've been antsy all week for the lack of football action; replays don't give me as much thrill as watching a live one because frankly, it's already happened and you know how it ends. So—

LET'S DO THIS, OKAY.

HAPPY NEW YEAR, WORLD
